Background
Dr John Chai received the degrees of Master Jurisprudence and Doctors of Law from Loyola University Chicago, Master of Science from Northwestern University and Fellow, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. As a qualified medical health care professional, he has also been awarded fellowship to several professional organizations. Dr. Chai is presently a Professor Emeritus of Northwestern University.
Dr Chai currently is Managing Director of Fook Tin Group Holdings Ltd.
Fook Tin specializes in design, manufacturing, marketing and the global distribution of professional magnitude sensors, professional and semi-professional scales, consumer scales, industrial scales, health care devices, medical devices and electronic appliances and so on.
Dr Chai has been instrumental in improving Fook Tins financial, legal, research and corporate management. Under his direction, Fook Tins integrated management system was qualified to the standards of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and Fook Tin is the first company in the world to be certified with IECQ QC 080000 HSPM (an International Electrotechnical Commission Quality Assessment Scheme for Electronic Components Industry) in 2006.
Dr. Chai also contributes to the industry by participating a Council Member, Sustainable Industry Council of Federation of Hong Kong Industries; Director of the Board, Business Environment Council; Chairperson, Sustainable Development Working Group of Business Environment Council; Member, Hong Kong Trade Development Council Electronics/Electrical Appliances Industry Advisory Committee; Member, Hong Kong-France Business Partnership of Hong Kong Trade and Development Council; Member, Trade and Industry Advisory Board of the Government of HKSAR and Member, Hong Kong-United States Business Council.
